PLASTIC SURGEON

Improving the abdomen or abdominal areas can be achieved in numerous ways. Depending on ones skin texture and amount of fat and the amount of bulging of the abdominal muscles, different procedures can be performed. These are liposuction alone or combined with a mini-abdominoplasty or radical abdominoplasty. Liposuction is an excellent technique but doesn't remove excess or wrinkling skin over the abdominal muscle wall. Liposuction is best in younger people with good elastic skin. A mini-abdominoplasty can reinforce the abdominal muscle wall. There may or may not be a scar around the umbilicus and the suprapubic scar is shorter. The final result is compromised because not as much skin is taken compared with a radical abdominoplasty.

A radical abdominoplasty usually leaves a well-concealed scar around the umbilicus, a long scar from hip to hip above the pubic area and tightening of the abdominal musculature which has the effect of flattening a bulging stomach.
