I use a top of the line cutera laser xeo platform in my laser clinic. This platform can be used to perform permanent reduction in hair removal, removal of spider veins on the face and legs, removal of pigmented spots, as well as for photorejuvenation which will improve texture as well as pore size of the skin and also skin tightening. The results from this laser are very impressive. The cutera xeo platform has a pearl and fractionated pearl resurfacing head which has none of the drawbacks of the CO2 or Erbium laser, the recovery is much quicker and the results are very comparable.

Laser resurfacing performed with either a carbon dioxide laser or an erbium yag laser was very much more popular a few years ago. This type of laser causes a superficial burn to the skin which when it heals, tightens the skin. The CO2/Erbium laser are quite impressive especially on very age and wrinkled skin. The drawbacks of laser skin resurfacing are the lengthy recovery which is 2-3 weeks, the redness which might last for a few months and the long term hypopigmentation or lightening of the skin. The new laser that I have purchased has a TITAN head for skin tightening. This tightening has none of the drawbacks of a CO2/Erbium laser for skin resurfacing.
